Reverse Osmosis
Collinsville Reverse Osmosis System Installation
Unless you get all of your drinking water from a well, all the water that goes into your home is first treated by the city to remove harmful substances. This works pretty well, removing the vast majority of waterborne contaminants that could make you sick or harm your home. Unfortunately, the treatment process isn’t one hundred percent effective. There’s always a chance that some contaminants will make it into your home, some of which can be quite dangerous. We know how important it is that you have access to fresh water at all times, which is why Embrich Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning offers comprehensive reverse osmosis system services throughout Collinsville, IL. Call us today to schedule an appointment with one of our expert water treatment service experts.

What is a Reverse Osmosis System?
A reverse osmosis system is a form of water treatment system, designed to protect a home’s water supply against contamination by harmful substances. It works by forcing incoming water through a thin membrane, which is thin enough to allow water to flow through it but thick enough to stop anything else from entering the home. Some of the substances stopped by reverse osmosis systems include, but are not limited to, sodium, sulfate, calcium, iron, lead, arsenic, magnesium, and nickel. With a reverse osmosis system in your home, you can use fresh water without fear of what might be in it.

Why You Need Reverse Osmosis Systems
As you might imagine, a lot of the stuff that can be found in untreated water can be quite dangerous. The majority of the most dangerous materials are removed by the municipal water treatment process, but some can still make it through. For example:
- Calcium/Magnesium: These are the two primary components that create hard water. Prolonged exposure to hard water can cause a buildup of lime scale, which restricts the flow of water through the pipes. High calcium and magnesium content is also bad for your skin and hair.
- Arsenic: Arsenic is quite poisonous and can cause extensive damage to the body in large amounts. Trace amounts found in water are typically not enough to prove fatal, but they can sicken you over time. You definitely don’t want this in your drinking water.
- Mercury: A poisonous metal, mercury is another harmful substance that you may not notice at first, but which can cause extensive damage if consumed in small amounts over an extended period of time.
- PFAS: PFAS are “forever chemicals” found in everyday products that can build up in water and the body, potentially impacting health, and a reverse osmosis system is one of the most effective ways to reduce them in your drinking water.

We made an online appointment on Saturday which was super easy and helpful that we could upload pictures of what was going on. Monday morning, Cliff came to check out the issue. There were a few other things we also needed done, but weren't expecting to do at the time. However, we decided to go for it.
The next morning, by 8 am, Cody and Jack were here and got to work quickly. They fixed a pipe, a leaking bathtub faucet, replaced the garbage disposal and kitchen sink faucet, and installed an ro system in the kitchen. They began shortly after 8 and were finished by 10:30. Luckily there wasn't anything exceptional that extended their stay. Divide and conquer was their motto and boy did they! Thank you so much to Embrich for their professionalism and quick, excellent work. We are very impressed. To Cliff, Jack, and Cody - thank you! I'm pretty sure we've found our new company!
We also signed up for their membership program and we were told today that all of our "checkup" appointments had already been scheduled and that they would reach out with more info when those dates got closer. Super impressed!
We highly recommend Embrich and love that they are family owned and local.
