Video Camera Pipe Inspection

Collinsville Video Camera Pipe Inspection
As you already know, the vast majority of your plumbing pipes are hidden from view. This is both for aesthetic reasons and to keep you from tripping over the tangle of pipes running all over your house. While hiding pipes in the walls may have a lot of advantages, though, it has one big disadvantage. If you can’t see the pipes, you often won’t notice any drain and sewer problems that may develop with them. That’s where video camera inspection comes in. Embrich Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning offers comprehensive video camera inspection services throughout Collinsville, IL. If you need video camera inspection services of any kind, call today to schedule an appointment.

What is Video Camera Inspection?
Video camera inspection is the primary method that service experts use to find problems with a plumbing system. A long cord is inserted into the system, with a motorized camera at the end of it. The camera travels through the plumbing system, sending video back to the service expert controlling it. This way, the service expert can thoroughly examine your pipes for issues without tearing up the house to physically examine them. Video camera inspection makes it much easier to find and fix problems earlier, so that they have less time to cause damage. This is by far the best method for keeping tabs on your home’s plumbing.

As previously mentioned, many plumbing problems go unnoticed because the pipes are hidden from view. Most plumbing problems can cause a great deal of damage if allowed to progress for too long. For example:
- Pinhole Leaks: These tiny leaks are only large enough to leak a couple drops of water at a time, but if left alone for long enough they can cause a great deal of water damage. Most homeowners don’t notice pinhole leaks, because they’re too small to cause a drop in water pressure. Pinhole leaks tend to only get noticed once they’ve rotted out the surrounding area, which is quite obvious even from the other side of the wall.
- Corrosion: Various kinds of corrosion can affect your pipes, weakening them and making it more likely for leaks or ruptures to occur. Without close examination of the pipes, however, there is no way to actually observe this corrosion occurring.
- Tree Root Intrusion: Tree roots are naturally drawn to the moisture and nutrients inside sewer lines, and even the smallest crack or joint in a pipe can give them a way in. Once inside, roots continue to grow and expand, gradually obstructing the flow of wastewater and putting pressure on the pipe walls. This can lead to slow drains, recurring clogs, or even complete blockages over time. Because root intrusion happens underground and out of sight, it often goes unnoticed until significant damage has already occurred, making a video inspection one of the most effective ways to identify and address the issue early.
The only way to catch these issues early is to have a service expert examine your pipes on a fairly regular basis, and the best way to do that is with video camera inspection.

Dom and James were the techs that came out Friday. Two very known techs who took the time to explain things to me and made suggestions. I highly commend Dom and James and Embrich for hiring employees like these two men. I appreciated that they explained everything to me so that I understood what was going on and by giving me options of what could also be done to fix the issue.
I also appreciate the communication from Embrich. Starting from the after hours communications with me, to trying to fit me in the next day to the text messages and call from their techs.
I highly recommend Embrich for your plumbing needs.
I was going to add another review of Embrich but I guess a user can only place one review or edit a previous review.
Embrich came back out to my house today to complete the service I had booked on Friday. James and Ben showed up today to jet out (I think this is what it is called) my kitchen pipes. Once again, Embrich did a fantastic job and they were able to clean out the pipes for us. James and Ben did an awesome job. They were very professional and explained to me the whole process and all the steps they took. I appreciate what they did and that they took the time to explain to me what was happening.
Again, I highly recommend Embrich for all of your plumbing needs. They will definitely be who I call again.

Corey Scroggins and Daniel Schafers came out to remedy the situation. The county has guys ripping up my street so they had to be a little creative with getting the excavator on site. Which they did.
After excavating it was found that the pipe had been compromised by a foundation recovery system. They were able to cut away the foundation recovery system to install a new sewer line.
This was all done in a very timely and professional manner. There were unforseen circumstances that were handled in a timely fashion.
I highly recommend their services and will be using them again when I remodel my bathrooms.
